Survey Update

Eighty respondents to our Phase II Curriculum Renewal survey shared their ideas for reinvigorating our curriculum. The feedback we received from students, faculty, staff and alumni provided insight into what members of the ZSOM community consider to be crucial for us to consider in designing our refreshed curriculum. Survey responses are being synthesized and we look forward to sharing a summary with you in the near future.

Feedback Loop

A visual has been developed to help illustrate the exchange of ideas and information among various groups that have taken place over the past two years of Curriculum Renewal.

Curriculum Macro Structure

For the past few months, a small team has been working on using the input from the Requests for Proposals, Curious Questioning Teams, and other data collected to create a Macro Structure for the refreshed curriculum.

The structure will meet the goal and objectives that were a result of Phase I and will serve as a framework going forward. In the coming months, an update and request for feedback will be circulated to the ZSOM community.

Skills Summary Working Group

A small group of faculty and staff has been developing a blueprint for a portfolio of evidence to express ZSOM’s goal of graduating students who are best prepared for GME in their chosen specialty. Interviews are being conducted with Program Directors, Chairs, and Faculty in the Core Clerkships to collect feedback on specialty-specific knowledge, skills, and attitudes to help populate a template. Keep an eye out for an update in your inbox!

Be sure to check out the Phase ll Curriculum Renewal website for updates and future events.
